When it Comes to Hiring, the Internet is the Problem, not the Solution | LinkedIn.

 

Well I have to hand it to Lou Adler.  He absolutely nails it once again.  This article is a perfect synopsis of what is going on inside corporate america at all levels.  Kudos to Lou for putting it in writing, and clearly stating where we are.

What I can’t understand is that there is a time and a place for everyone in the recruiting process.  Headhunters like myself are NECESSARY and not the NECESSARY EVIL that we are so often made out to be.

People are so quick to point out how much a “placement fee” is, but never take the time to really drill down and evaluate how much money is being spent/wasted for every day that the role remains unfilled.  If that type of analysis was done it would be pretty clear that a good recruiter who takes his/her job very seriously actually saves a company money with every placement they make….and in some cases they end up MAKING the company money vs. being such a huge COST to a company.

I will end with a quote from the Movie Jerry Maguire  that I say to all the hiring managers and HR execs I talk to on a regular basis  ” Help ME HELP YOU !! ”  I promise I am not the enemy !  I don’t want your job and I am not trying to replace you….I want to HELP you…and I CAN help you….just LET ME !!
