I am not sure why everyone is so afraid of letting people work remote. Here in Nashville it seams like it is more of a level of distrust than anything. “If their butt is not here in the office, in their seat then they must not be working, or can’t be trusted to work !” That is old school thinking and if there is that level of distrust inside an organization then there a bigger fish to fry.
The object of every role is to get something done correct? Whether someone is in the office or not it is pretty easy to figure out whether or not they are getting the work done. If they are GREAT !! If not then they deserve to be let go, and this can happen at the office just as easily as remotely.
Hiring managers need to read the article and do what it recommends. Hire the best possible people no matter where they are, give them the tools they need to succeed and get out of their way and let them get things done.
